Catholics Come Home®

Welcome!

Whether you were baptized Catholic as a child or you’ve only recently decided to see what the Catholic Church is about, we are glad you are here.

Wherever you are in your faith journey, our desire is that the Catholics Come Home® Boston campaign and our humble parish community will help you discover—or re-discover—the Catholic faith.

Our hope is that you will discover that being Catholic can help you find true peace, happiness, and purpose in life. Our goal is to provide you with the help you need to understand the Catholic Church and her teachings. Go ahead, we want you to ask us the tough questions. We want you to know God’s love for you. We ask you to be part of our global Catholic family. We invite you to join us in worship, prayer, and fellowship at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.

The door is open for you. We are one family – welcome home!

How do I come home?

This question reminds us of the Parable of the Prodigal Son and is a joyous question indeed!  Our Heavenly Father is always waiting for you to return home and is ready to embrace you upon your arrival.

There are a number of ways to begin your journey; the simplest of which is to go to Mass.  This will allow you to experience worshiping as part of the Church community.  Don't worry if you don't remember what you are supposed to do at Mass.  The important thing is that you are there to worship God and it gives you an opportunity to experience our parish community at the same time.  We think you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll remember what to do.

You can also ask a friend that practices their Catholic faith about their own experiences with the Catholic Church.  That friend may prove quite helpful in accompanying you on your journey.  Additionally, you can keep an eye out on our website and through our weekly Parish Bulletin for social events that we may be having at the parish.  This is a great way to meet the members of our community and gives you another opportunity to benefit from the experiences of those members.

We are always ready to speak to you about your journey home.  Contact us at the Rectory to set up an appointment with our Pastor or another member of our Parish Staff.  This will allow you to spend some dedicated time discussing your specific situation, getting answers to your questions, and learning more about the Catholic Church and Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Also, as a baptized Catholic, another great way to journey home is to once again experience the healing Sacrament of Confession.  This beautiful sacrament will reconcile you to God and His Church and offers you God's Grace as you continue your journey back to Him.  This will allow you to once again fully participate in the Mass, including reception of the Eucharist.  Even if it's been a long time and you don't remember what to do, there is nothing to fear.  Just let the priest know and he will be glad to guide you through the sacrament.

Below are some testimonials from our friends at Catholics Come Home® to give you a sense of what lead others to make the journey back home.  Also, the banner at the bottom of the page will take you to our Archdiocese's page for more resources to help you on your journey.

We look forward to having you as part of our community!

God bless you!

As a Catholic, how can I help a loved one come home to the Catholic Church?

“For I long to see you, that I may share with you some spiritual gift so that you may be strengthened,
that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by one another's faith, yours and mine.”
(Romans 1: 11-12)

As a baptized Catholic, we have a responsibility to share our faith.  Sometimes we can do this simply by living our faith and setting an example; but at other times, we need to be prepared to discuss what is so special about our faith and how it has and continues to impact our lives.

The fact that you are looking to learn how to invite people back to the Church says a lot about your desire to share the Good News with others.  Whether you are reaching out to a lapsed Catholic or someone who has shown interest in becoming a Catholic, the first step is prayer.  Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you prepare to approach the individual with an invitation and to speak through you to encourage this person to come home.

Sometimes, an invitation is all that it will take, while other times a deeper conversation to explain or remind what the Church offers her members will be desired.  You can invite the person to attend a Mass with you or invite the person to an upcoming parish social event.  Whatever the path that is taken as you accompany the person home, we are here to help.  Below are some helpful links from our friends at Catholics Come Home® that can help guide you as you begin a dialogue with your loved one and please don't hesitate to contact us if we can be of any help along the way.
